World Peace and Prayer Day is celebrated on the 21st of June.
It is a day dedicated to promoting peace and understanding among all people.
This day is closely linked to Chief Arvol Looking Horse, a Lakota Sioux spiritual leader who spent his life to promoting that peace and understanding. Father Patrick Peyton on the other hand was a Catholic Priest who dedicated his life to promoting the power of prayer.
Known for his slogan “A World at Prayer is a World at Peace” and for founding the Family Rosary,
the organisation dedicated to promoting Family Prayer.
Although Chief Arvol Looking Horse and Father Patrick Peyton came from very different backgrounds, they shared a common goal: to promote peace and understanding among all people.
On World Peace and Prayer Day, lets take a moment to reflect on the power of prayer and its ability to bring about positive change in the world.
