Twenty Years Later – The ‘Stoney’ Ferguson Family Reunion

A celebration of family, friendship, food and faith at the Fr Peyton Centre

Some places hold more than memories — they become part of the memories themselves.

In May 2026, the Fr Peyton Centre had the great pleasure of welcoming the ‘Stoney’ Ferguson family for a very special family reunion — twenty years after the family had gathered together in the Centre for their first reunion in 2006.

Two decades later, family and friends once again travelled from near and far, from across Ireland, the UK and the United States, coming together to reconnect, reminisce and celebrate the ties that bind them.

The afternoon began with a beautiful Mass celebrated by Fr John Doran, providing a special opportunity for the family to pause, remember those who could no longer be with them, and give thanks for the generations of family that continue to grow.

Following Mass, everyone gathered for a wonderful family meal, filled with conversation, laughter and the sharing of stories. As the afternoon unfolded, the gathering continued with a traditional music session, bringing everyone together in true Irish style.

There was music, singing, plenty of food, laughter and, most importantly, time spent together.

Looking back at the photographs from 2006 and 2026, it is wonderful to see the generations, the familiar faces and the changes that twenty years can bring. Yet, at the heart of both gatherings remains the same thing — family.

The ‘Stoney’ Fergusonn reunion, May 2006.

The Ferguson reunion was a beautiful reminder that family connections endure across generations and across oceans. It was a day to remember the past, celebrate the present and create new memories for the future.

We were honoured that the Fr Peyton Centre could once again be the place where this family came together — a place of faith, welcome, friendship and community.

Twenty years. Two reunions. Generations of memories. One very special family.

We look forward to welcoming the Stoney Ferguson family back again in the years to come.
