Clifden April 29th

The streets were gay with bunting and papel and national flags, while the American flag was flown in honour of Father Patrick Peyton.

The Archbishop of Tuam Rev. Dr Walsh and Father Patrick Peyton were met on arrival at Clifden by Very Rev. Chancellor D. Corcoran, P.P, V.F. They went to the centre of town, where a special altre had been constructed. A guard of honour drawn from local Irish-speaking F.C.A units, was in attendance and was inspected by the Archbishop
